Proposed Itinerary

Day 1

Group is met at the Nelspruit airport and transferred to the Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve on the Southern side of the Kruger National Park (approximately 1Hr). Upon arrival, guests are briefed and after an orientation embark on an evening drive on an open aired vehicle to get acquainted with the game reserve. Dinner around the camp fire.

Day 2

Breakfast, followed by a horse back safari with a guide/trekker pointing out the finer details of the African bush. Emphasis on conservation and spotting of animals. Students are briefed on “Project Leopard”. Games and team building activities. Afternoon/evening game drive on open aired vehicle.

Day 3

Breakfast, followed by a 3-hour game drive learning about, and spotting as many game species as possible. Insect and reptile identification. Games and team building, leisure time at the pool. Dinner around a camp fire at a cultural village with the local tribe where they prepare a traditional meal and perform traditional dances.

Day 4

After a morning game drive, embark on a three hour walking safari identifying birds, trees, plants and tracking animal species by identifying various spoor. Games, team building activities and leisure time at camp before embarking on a night drive spotting as many species possible.

Day 5

Completion of conservation work. 7.5 minute micro-light low altitude safaris flight, seeing the national park from a birds view. Put the finishing touched on the leopard conservation project. Farewell dinner

Day 6

Morning game drive. Transfer to Nelspruit airport, depart on flight to Cape Town, the mother city of South Africa. After settling in at the Saltycrax Hostel, take a brief walking tour around the area and the beach before enjoying a potjie (traditional South African stew) cooked on the fire.

Day 7

After breakfast, embark on a walking tour of the Cape Town city centre visiting historical sites and african craft markets. Sites visited: Castle of Good Hope, Grand Parade, Slave Lodge, Parliament Buildings and District six museum. Later, take the cable car up Table Mountain. End the day with drumming and traditional African cuisine at Mama Africa’s restaurant.

Day 8

Full day tour around the Southern tip of Africa exploring the splendor of the Cape Peninsula. Attractions include: the fishing hamlet of Hout Bay, a cruise to Duiker Island to see the fur seals and perhaps great whites, Jackass Penguins of Boulders Beach. Dinner at Saltycrax. Proposed Itinerary

Day 9

Following breakfast, take the ferry to Robben Island (South Africa’s Alcatraz), a place of isolation and imprisonment. It is here where Nelson Mandela spent most of his 26 years of incarceration. Visit the V&A Waterfront before going on a township tour, started by a braai (barbecue) at famous Mzoli’s. Explore the daily lives and culture of the Xhosa people living in townships on bicycles and visit a local creche and traditional healers.

Day 10

Enjoy a bit more sight-seeing and do some last minute shopping before embarking on connecting flights to cities of origin.

Please note: Itineraries van be taylored to specifications of individual groups and can be extended to include a visit to Zambia and the Victoria Falls.
